Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Form inputs you provide — partner's name, gender, traits, what you love about them, a special memory, and occasion. These are sent to our AI model providers solely to generate your poem. They are not sent to our analytics tools.
• A signed rate-limit cookie — a short-lived, HttpOnly cookie with a 24-hour expiry. Combined with a hashed IP address, it enforces the 7 poems-per-day fair-use limit. It carries no personal data.
• Standard analytics — aggregate, anonymized usage data via Google Analytics (page views, approximate region, device category, and which steps of the site were used — for example that a poem was generated or a file was downloaded). No personally identifying information, and never the poem itself.
• Session recordings and heatmaps — via Microsoft Clarity, we record how the page is used: clicks, scrolls, mouse movement, and how the layout renders on your device. The text you type into the form is masked before it leaves your browser, so it does not appear in recordings. The poem itself is drawn as an image, not as page text, and does not appear in recordings either.

A bug we have fixed: until September 26, 2026, if you pressed “Create My Poem” before the page had finished loading, your browser could put what you had typed into the page's web address. Web addresses are recorded by Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and our hosting provider's logs, so in those cases your text may have been recorded there. We fixed this on September 26, 2026, and Google Analytics is now set to remove those fields from web addresses. If you think this affected you, email us and we will tell you what we can do.

What we do not collect

• No user accounts, logins, or passwords.
• No stored poems — generated output is returned to your browser and discarded server-side.
• No email address, phone number, or payment information.
• We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
• Your inputs are not used to train any AI model.

Third-party services

Your inputs are transmitted to the following processors for the sole purpose of generating your poem or running the site:

• AI model providers — used solely to generate your poem.
• Cloud hosting provider — used to serve the site and route requests.
• Google Analytics — used for aggregate traffic measurement.
• Microsoft Clarity — used for session recordings and heatmaps so we can see where the site is confusing or broken. Microsoft may also use this data to improve its own products and services, as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Each of these processors has their own privacy practices; they only receive data strictly necessary to perform their function.

Cookies

We use two categories of cookies:

• Essential — the rate-limit cookie that enforces the daily fair-use limit. Required for the site to function fairly.
• Analytics — Google Analytics cookies used for aggregate traffic measurement, and Microsoft Clarity cookies (_clck, kept for up to a year, and _clsk, kept for the session) that tie the pages of one visit together. Clarity may also set cookies on Microsoft domains. For visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Clarity sets no cookies at all.

Data retention

• Form inputs are discarded immediately after the poem is generated.
• The rate-limit cookie expires automatically after 24 hours.
• Analytics data is retained for approximately 14 months under our default retention setting.
• Clarity session recordings are deleted by Microsoft after 30 days, apart from a small random sample (and any we save) that Clarity keeps for up to 9 months.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA give you the following rights in relation to personal data we process:

• Right to access the data we hold about you.
• Right to correct inaccurate data.
• Right to delete your data.
• Right to object to processing.
• Right to object to analytics. We do not show a consent banner; Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity run by default, so there is no consent to withdraw. Microsoft's own opt-out for Clarity, covering every site that uses it, is to select “Microsoft” at optout.aboutads.info; Clarity also honours the Global Privacy Control browser signal, though not Do Not Track. Setting either before you visit means no recording is made.
• Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

In practice, here is what exercising these rights looks like. We keep no record of who you are: form inputs are discarded once the poem is generated, the poem is never stored, and there are no accounts. So there is nothing to access, correct, or delete on our side — those rights are satisfied by there being no record. The one thing we hold that can be traced to a person is a Clarity session recording. Clarity does not let us delete a single recording, so we cannot remove yours on request; it expires as described under Data retention. If you have a question about a recording, email us with the approximate time, page, and device you used and we will tell you what we can see. To stop recordings being made at all, use the opt-out above. Analytics data beyond that is aggregate and cannot be tied back to you, so there is nothing for us to find.

Children under 18

Love Poem AI is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. We do not store form inputs or poems, so there is nothing of a child's to delete after the fact. If you believe a child has used the site, contact us. Clarity does not let us delete a single recording, so we cannot remove a child's recording on request; it expires as described under Data retention.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
